Welcome to the Anglican Sisters in Christ!

-Established January 2022-

About the Anglican Sisters in Christ

Several who attended the ACA’s 2021 Diocese of the West’s synod in Montana had an idea about how to stay in touch, to listen, learn and support one another as Anglican women living in today's world.

In January 2022, the Anglican Sisters in Christ was established coming together online via Zoom – the 3rd Saturday of each month at 8:30 AM PT / 11:30 AM ET

This virtual gathering of Anglican women come from all over the U.S. who either attend a G3 Anglican parish or are interested in the Church.

Meeting Agenda (about 75 minutes)

- Greetings and Introductions

- Family Morning Prayer – page 587 in the 1928 Book of Common Prayer

- Announcements

- Meditation on Bible verses

- Share your prayer requests & thanksgiving

- Intercessory & Closing Prayer

A slide deck of prayers and meditation is emailed to you each month. For a sample and invitation Zoom link, please complete the contact form.  We encourage you to turn your computer or cell phone camera on to enhance the personal connection among us ladies.  We are informal and friendly, so come as you are, sip a cup of your favorite morning beverage, and relax as we talk and pray together.

Hosts:  Marilyn Williams, Sabrina Bower, and Amy Hendrickson

April Meeting

This month's meditation was on
Opening Up to God’s Grace

Why would we believe we have no sin?

-Someone may be unaware of what sin is
-Not a Christian
-Attends a Christian church but have never been taught about sin.
-Has never read the Bible

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
- 1 John1:8

The meditation slides are available on pages 12-21.

Last month's meditation was on
Forgiveness - Receiving God's Grace

  • Take a minute to consider how Judas responds and how Peter responds to their situations.
  • Consider how the religious leaders responded to Judas. It makes one think of Jesus and the fig tree. How he comes to the fig tree that is full of leaves and looks as if it would have fruit but when he looks closely there is no fruit in it.
  • What does that tell us how we should respond to people in crisis? What is there to offer them?

The meditation slides are available on pages 15-21.

For Grace to Reform and Grow Better (Book of Common Prayer, Page 590)

AND lest, through our own frailty, or the temptations which encompass us, we be drawn again into sin, vouchsafe us, we beseech thee, the direction and assistance of thy Holy Spirit. Reform whatever is amiss in the temper and disposition of our souls; that no unclean thoughts, unlawful designs, or inordinate desires, may rest there. Purge our hearts from envy, hatred, and malice; that we may never suffer the sun to go down upon our wrath; but may always go to our rest in peace, charity, and good-will, with a conscience void of offence towards thee, and towards men; that so may we be preserved pure and blameless, unto the coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
Amen.

Our prayer...

Father in heaven, when the Spirit came down upon Jesus at His Baptism in the Jordan, You revealed Him as Your own beloved Son. Keep us, Your children, born of water and the Spirit, faithful to our calling.  May we who share in your life as your children through Baptism follow in Christ’s path of service to people.  Let us become one in His sacrifice and hear His word with faith.  May we live as Your children, following the example of Jesus.  Amen.
